This professional music duo needed a recording of their performance to promote an upcoming show.
They also wanted a professional audio recording to go with the video. We shot
4 songs in one day. The video was recorded in 4K from 3 different angles plus
2 close ups.
Mads and Peppino Black Orpheus
We recorded the audio digitally on-site and it was lightly touched-up at a professional
music studio.
The result is a beautiful music video where the subjects are highlighted
perfectly. The video shooting and the editing does not draw attention to itself,
but rather works as a subtle enhancement to the presentation of the music piece.
Mads and Peppino Danish Desert
It took 5 hours to record the 4 music pieces. Each piece was recorded multiple
times to give us choices for the finished product.
Both of the musicians did some interpretation of the music in every single take.
These interpretations made each take individual and difficult to combine with
other takes. We came up with innovative solutions to keep the two musicians
on the same BPM for each take to make combining at least some of the scenes
possible.
Mads and Peppino Venus over Venice
It took 10 hours to edit the 4 music pieces. It always takes longer than you
think it should. It was important to get the edits to match the precise
performance of the music.
The close-up shots were the most difficult to synchronize with the other camera
angles, but they are crucial to highlight the emotion with which both Mads
and Peppino play the pieces to somehow make them more than just well-played
notes.
